Health Insurance

PSU requires that all students enrolled in five or more per term maintain comprehensive health insurance to ensure that students stay healthy and in the classroom. The PSU Health Insurance Plan is major medical health insurance providing preventative, routine and specialized health benefits. Students who do not apply to waive it, are automatically enrolled and billed $875 per term. Those who have comparable outside health insurance can apply to waive the PSU Health Insurance Plan.

Enrollment Confirmation Deposit

Payment of a $200 nonrefundable tuition deposit is required for students enrolling at PSU. Financially eligible students are exempt from paying the $200 tuition deposit, but must still confirm enrollment. Learn more.

*Various programs assess additional differential tuition beyond the base tuition. A student admitted to a specific program will be charged this differential tuition based on the college program of choice.

Tuition Equity: HB 2787

In 2013, Oregon passed a law providing students attending Oregon high schools greater access to higher education, called HB 2787. It grants eligible students who are not citizens or lawful permanent residents of the United States exemption from nonresident tuition if they meet specific criteria, meaning they will be assessed an in-state rate for tuition. Find out if you qualify.

Tribal Membership for Resident Tuition

Students who are enrolled members of federally recognized tribes of Oregon qualify for residency regardless of their state of residence. Additionally, students who are enrolled members of a Native American tribe which had traditional and customary tribal boundaries that included parts of the state of Oregon or which had ceded or reserved lands within the state of Oregon shall be assessed resident tuition regardless of their state of residence. To be assessed resident tuition, it is necessary to provide documentation of tribal enrollment confirming membership in one of the tribes listed here.
