Program Status: Monitor/Assess

Enhancing the transfer student experience is a priority at PSU. The Transfer & Returning Student Resource Center focuses on helping transfer students transition smoothly to PSU, and is a primary university resource for developing and maintaining transfer articulation agreements and partnership programs.

Accomplished

  • Launched a fully online Articulation Agreement process in collaboration with OIT, OAA, and the RO
  • Provided academic advising appointments regularly at Clackamas CC, Mt Hood CC, and Portland CC.
  • Hosted a pre-conference session for the Oregon Student Success & Retention Conference in February 2024
    • 10 attendees from Chemeketa, Clackamas, Lane, and Rogue Community Colleges
    • Partnered with 12 PSU departments and resource centers, including Admissions, College of Education, Financial Aid, Financial Wellness Center, Registrar, Cultural Resource Centers, Disability Resource Center, Queer Resource Center, Resource Center for Students with Children, Student Activities & Leadership Programs, Veterans Resource Center, Women’s Resource Center
  • Participated in PCC’s college-wide advising training series, strengthening our advising relationship across our institutions
  • Conducted outreach to students who need to re-enroll with PSU in order to register for classes,  and hosted a re-enrollment workshop.
  • Provided outreach to all students who completed the Re-Enrollment form to provide proactive assistance in connecting to advising and essential PSU resources and services. 
  • Future Connect: Next Step PSU transfer support program in collaboration with PCC.
    • Hired & Trained 2 Student Future Connect Peer Mentors
    • Launched search for Future Connect Navigator position

In Progress

  • Partnering with Multicultural Retention Services on the Partnership for Adult Learner Success grant from the Association of Public and
  • Land grant Universities to assist employees at Self Enhancement, Inc. to return and complete their baccalaureate degrees.
  • Working with academic units to support articulation agreements and support of transfer advising guides.
  • Collaborating with Admissions to enhance our Co-Admission programs for strategic curricular pathways.
