Program Status: Discovery

We are launching a career readiness program that engages First-Year Free students from the beginning of their academic journey. Throughout their first year, students will be connected with opportunities to engage in academic, career development, extracurricular, and civic engagement activities.

Accomplished

  • Initial and follow up communication to students notifying them of the program.
  • Targeted invites to existing career center workshops.
  • Continued increase in appointments or drop-ins with first year students this year (77 vs 31 ytd), similar  increases in workshop attendance.
  • Offering Friday afternoon drop-ins hours just for first year students in these programs.

In Progress

  • Spring Friday drop-ins are focused on job-search, marketed as a “Job Search Party!”
  • Developing self-paced canvas module/ micro-credential that introduces “career readiness” focusing on career and self-development, understanding the career decision making process and setting goals.
