PROGRAM OVERVIEW
PSU was awarded $7,823,199 million to fund the Access, Connect, Complete, Engage (ACCE) program in partnership with Clackamas Community College (CCC) and Mt. Hood Community College (MHCC) to better serve transfer students throughout their higher education journey.
THE VISION
To empower students from Clackamas Community College (CCC) and Mount Hood Community College (MHCC) to successfully transfer to and graduate from Portland State University (PSU) or a different four-year university, fostering personal achievement and creating pathways to economic mobility and opportunity.
THE MISSION
The ACCE program, in partnership with CCC and MHCC, is dedicated to transforming pathways to degree attainment for underrepresented students. By increasing transfer success rates and degree completion at PSU, and by refining sustainable data-driven systems, we aim to create lasting impact through innovative, student-centered support.
AT A GLANCE
The ACCE program will serve 2,000 community college students from MHCC and CCC over the course of four years who intend to transfer to a four year university and obtain their Bachelor's Degree. The ACCE program aims to remove systemic barriers to academic success through a blend of evidence-based practices. ACCE bridges the transfer pathway with early, proactive, and wrap-around support, offering collaborative and sustained guidance such as coaching and advising. This approach includes:
- Clear Transfer Pathways: Streamlined processes and guidance that simplify transitions from CCC and MHCC to PSU.
- Comprehensive and Integrated Coaching: Dedicated support to MHCC and
CCC students for course planning, credit transfer, and degree completion, ensuring alignment with major requirements. - Direct Financial Aid: Direct financial resources for MHCC and CCC students to make college more affordable, accessible, and transparent.
- Data-Driven Evaluation: Continuous assessment to refine strategies that enhance academic success for students.
