Today many of us witnessed what we have longed to see for decades, that those who hold the lives of Black individuals and other minoritized groups in disdain should and will be held accountable. While the guilty verdict does not erase the centuries of injustice, or provide any assurances that we have turned a page, we have some semblance of hope for a more just society.
