Welcome to the Center for Student Health and Counseling. We are a community-based health care organization that provides high quality, accessible mental health, physical health, dental services, and testing services targeted to the needs of the PSU student population.



Winter Insurance Waiver Walk-In Hours

The SHAC Insurance Team is available to assist students with health insurance waiver questions during the first two weeks of Winter term. Walk-in hours are:

Monday 11am-4pm and Tuesday-Friday 10am-4pm
Location: University Center Building Suite 307

                                      SHAC's Patient Portal


SHAC Health Services and Counseling Services is pleased to offer a patient portal service called Open Communicator. Students can schedule basic health appointments, communicate with medical providers, complete forms ahead of time, update required health insurance and immunization information, obtain financial statements, and more. To log in to Open Communicator, go to the MyChart patient portal.




Making a SHAC Appointment

MEDICAL: Students should access the Patient Portal, call the main line at 503.725.2800, or come in during business hours. Advance appointments are typically required, however SHAC reserves same day appointments for urgent matters.

DENTAL: Call 503.725.2611.

COUNSELING: Students may come during Walk-In Hours. Crisis counseling is available any time during SHAC business hours.  

TESTING: Call 503.725.5301 or visit the Testing Services website.

SHAC Dates of Closure
Thursday, February 1, 2018: Closing at 11:00 a.m.
Thursday, March 15, 2018: Opening at 11:00 a.m.
Monday, May 28, 2018: SHAC/PSU closed in observance of Memorial Day
Tuesday, June 7, 2018: Closing at 2:00 p.m.
