BIC Desired Conditions

The BIC focused on aspects of the Blue Mountains forest plans that many members of the public objected to during the last revision effort. Together, the BIC developed zones of agreement around desired conditions for these key resources. Desired conditions describe specific social, economic, or ecological characteristics toward which land and resource management actions should be directed. These BIC-endorsed desired conditions serve as recommendations to the US Forest Service to inform revision of forest plans for the Malheur, Umatilla, and Wallowa-Whitman National Forests.
