Biography:

Elizabeth Duquette is a Visiting Scholar with particular expertise in nineteenth-century U.S. literature. The author of several books—most recently American Tyrannies in the Long Age of Napoleon (Oxford UP 2023)—and a score of articles, Duquette is also an academic editor. Previously the co-editor of J19: The Journal of Nineteenth-Century Americanists, she now co-edits the American Literary History Review from PSU. Her current writing projects include a new book on tyranny’s place in the American political imagination and a biography of Elizabeth Stuart Phelps.
