On Wednesday May 15th, we will be hosting Andy Fuchs, Shawn Kilburn and Emily Baker-Stuckman as our guest speakers from Write the Docs Portland!
Our guests, who all volunteer at Write the Docs (WTD) Portland have rich workplace experiences (and some internationally) ranging from technical writing, computer programming, management, software engineering, and writing developer documentation (See their bios attached). As you may already know:
Write the Docs (WTD) is a global community of people who care about documentation: Programmers, Tech Writers, Customer Support, Designers, Project Managers, Developer Advocates, and anyone else who wants people to have a great experience with software.
Created in 2013 in Portland, Oregon, WTD has hosted conferences around the world in Prague, Sydney, Amsterdam, London, and Melbourne.
Our speakers will talk about their involvement/experience with WTD and answer questions on how you can be connected to, and be involved in WTD's activities. You are also welcome to ask questions about their wealth of experiences as documentarians on the job.
So, if you're looking to be involved in WTD, make industry connections or just learn more broadly about the extensive field of Technical Writing in and out of Portland, we hope to see you there!
The in-person event will happen on the PSU Campus in the English Department FMH 302. (Hot pizza will be served at 5:15)!
