Faculty: Using Student Learning & Licensure

Student Learning & Licensure (SL&L) is the College of Education’s platform for managing student assessments, clinical experiences, placements, internships, and other program activities. This page provides information to help you access and navigate SL&L, complete the activities associated with your role, and find tutorials and support when you need them.

Getting Started

Faculty Login

Faculty can use their PSU account to log in to SL&L at staff.sll.pdx.edu or by going to pdx.edu/education/sll and clicking on the appropriate login link. Note that students have a separate link to access SL&L at sll.pdx.edu.

SL&L Tools

In-Progress

In-Progress is where you will find course assessments, clinical experiences, and internships that require your attention.

Notifications

Select the bell icon in the upper-right corner of SL&L to view notifications about recent placements and activities that require your attention.

User Settings

Use User Settings to manage your account preferences. You can upload a profile photo if you wish.

Completing Assessments

Faculty use SL&L to complete required assessments associated with courses, clinical experiences, and internships.

Assessing Activities

The Assessing Activities tutorial provides an overview of how to assess activities in SL&L.

Save and Submit

Use Save if you want to save your work and return to the assessment later. Use Submit when you have completed and finalized the assessment.

Bulk Assessments

Use bulk assessment tools when you need to assess multiple student submissions.

Using the Document Viewer

Learn how to view and work with documents submitted in SL&L.

When Something Goes Wrong

If an activity requires a student submission, the student must submit the assignment in SL&L before you can complete the assessment. If the student completed or submitted the assignment outside of SL&L, you can use Force Submit to make the activity available for assessment.

Force Submit and Rollback

Yes. Use the tools for undoing an assessment or requesting a revision when an assessment needs to be reopened or returned to a student.

Course & Program Information

The Assessment List identifies the key assessments associated with COE courses. You must be logged in to your PSU account to access the Assessment List.
