Joel Lane, PhD, is an associate professor and department chair for the Counselor Education Department. He joined PSU in 2013 after completing his doctorate in counselor education at Oakland University in the Detroit, Michigan area. His research interests include life transitions in emerging adulthood, attachment theory, and the impact of various counselor and client characteristics on counseling outcomes. He is the past president of the Oregon Counseling Association and is actively involved in professional advocacy at the state and national levels.
