Certificate of Completion Programs

Certificates of completion are granted by the College of Education, but are not accredited programs through Portland State University. You can complete the courses as either a non-degree student or apply them toward a master’s degree in special education or early childhood education.

Early Childhood Education Certificate of Completion

The Early Childhood Education certificate of completion develops your practice as an early childhood professional with in-depth, research-based, and innovative professional practices to expand your knowledge of children, birth to eight years.

Equity and Anti-Racism Certificate of Completion

The Equity and Anti-Racism specialization is intended to give teachers the tools and opportunities to reflect on their racial identity and their identities’ influence on their work in the educational system.

Mathematics Learning, Teaching, and Leading Certificate of Completion/Specialization

This certificate program is for teachers, teacher leaders, and coaches who seek a deeper understanding of the mathematics they teach. Learn to help your students develop confidence, critical thinking, and to move through struggles in learning.

Teacher Leadership Certificate of Completion

Enhance your role as a K–12 teacher, teacher leader, and/or coach. Bring effective mentoring and coaching, positive communication strategies, LGBTQ advocacy, an awareness of curriculum and culture, and strengthened assessment into your classroom.
