Support the Creative Writing Program

Portland State University's Creative Writing Program offers the only full-time creative writing graduate program in Portland and one of just two public creative writing BFA programs west of the Rockies. It has already received national recognition for the quality of its faculty and the success of its students—but becoming one of the premier creative writing programs in the country depends upon your support. Please consider donating to one of the funds below.

 Give Now

  • The MFA Fund puts your donation where it can do the most good: funding MFA student scholarships, bringing visiting writers to campus, creating internship opportunities, supporting student travel to writing conferences, and much more.

  • The Giving Back Fellowship is awarded to nonfiction students entering their second year in the MFA program, on the basis of excellence, need, and standing in the program. It is supported in part by alumni who give back to help those coming after them.

  • The Creative Writing program welcomes support in the form of named scholarships and bequests. Please contact us about making a commitment to future generations of Portland State writers.
