Sara Spiers


Center for Public Service - School of Government

Sara is a research fellow for the Public Compensation team at Portland State University’s Center for Public Service (CPS). Her work focuses on data collection, data analysis, and report writing. In addition, she is the point of contact for jurisdictions included in the studies and manages the compensation database. 


Sara has extensive experience in implementing and evaluating college and career preparation programs. She has worked with non-profits and state agencies to evaluate programs, research promising practices, and provide recommendations to strengthen programs. She earned a B.A. (Political Science) and MPA at Virginia Tech. Sara is working on her Ph.D. in Prevention Science at Washington State University. She has worked with CPS since 2017.
