CPS conducts International Performance Management and Leadership programs that run the gamut from intensive, week-long sessions to year-long exchanges with local government officials and scholars. Over the years, we have developed rich relationships with individuals and organizations around the world.

Japan Program

JaLoGoMa is for Japanese practitioners and students in civic engagement and community development.
Participants include local government managers, nonprofit organizations' employees, citizen activists, elected officials, graduate students, and academics from various regions of Japan who share their aspirations.

Korea Programs

The Seoul Metropolitan Government (SMG) Professional Development Program seeks to immerse leaders from South Korea to the US, for a year-long program where participants will be introduced to American culture and political practices.

Vietnam Programs

PSU’s Presidential Initiative on Internationalization, administered by the Office of International Affairs, affirms the value of connecting PSU to communities both locally and globally.  Portland State sees Vietnam as highly relevant to Oregon interests, a country where our current partnerships can be further enhanced and interconnected. 

Past Partnerships

The International Conference on Government Performance Management and Leadership is a long-standing bi-annual collaboration among global universities and public administration institutions. The conference brings together scholars and practitioners to share research and innovations that strengthen government performance, institutional trust, accountability, and sustainable development.

YSEALI

PSU's Center for Public Service is hosting 22 YSEALI fellows each year from 2022 through 2025, in partnership with the University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) and Arizona State University (ASU). CPS's YSEALI program focuses on the theme of Civic Engagement, providing fellows with the opportunity to learn tools and skills for engaging with community members and applying these skills in their respective communities to address social issues.
