While in Seoul, we will visit with producers of popular culture, visit significant K-pop landmarks such as Hallyu St/Gangnam and HYBE Insight Museum, and meet with scholars and cultural critics who will help us make sense of Korea’s popular culture production in global marketplaces. As a University Studies course, student inquiry comes first. We will engage the four UNST goals and the course learning outcomes for Examining Popular Culture. Before and during our trip, I’ll be helping you develop the critical skills and processes of inquiry you’ll need for success in this class and beyond. To maximize your experience, you will actively participate in developing topics, research, assessment, reading, writing, and constructing our learning community.Program Dates: August 24th - September 4th, 2024Course Credit: 4 credits (UNST 254)Education Abroad Advisor: Fara Mendy, facultyled@pdx.eduFaculty / Program Leader: Michael Lupro, lupro@pdx.eduLearn More & Apply Here. meeting or discussion
