Summer Scholars

Summer Scholars is a program offered to eligible incoming undergraduate students to support the transition to Portland State University.

First Year Summer Scholars

The First Year Summer Scholars Program is a FREE two-course program to be held over the course of three weeks September 3 - 19, 2024. Students earn four free credits upon completion of the program.

This program is intended to prepare students for the rigors of college and is designed to introduce students to PSU, the resources that we offer, and support for exploring majors.

Transfer Summer Scholars

The Transfer Summer Scholars Program is a FREE academic skills course held over the summer for incoming PSU transfer students. You can choose between an 8-week course or a 4-week course either in-person, hybrid, or online. Students earn three upper-division credits for FREE for completion of this program.

The goal of this program is to support transfer students in their transition to their first term at PSU to build skills and resilience to be successful.
