Academic Testing Services Information for Students

Update for Fall 2025 Term

We will be using a new scheduling platform called RegisterBlast!

To help us make sure everything runs smoothly, please schedule your exam at least 72 hours before your preferred testing date and time. If you schedule less than 7 business days in advance, please note that we can’t always guarantee that your exact preferred time will still be available. We schedule proctors based on need and have to lock in testing windows as those schedules are finalized. This allows time for communication and coordination between students, instructors, proctors, the DRC, and ATS. The earlier you can submit your request, ideally at the start of the term, the better!

If you have any questions, please send an email to: testingservices@pdx.edu

How to Schedule Your Exams

  1. Go to RegisterBlast through Canvas (located on the left side of your Canvas Shell) or by visiting RegisterBlast.com/pdx and sign in with your Odin username and password.
  2. On the Exam Registration page:
    1. Select "Fall 2025" from the "Choose an exam type" drop-down menu.
    2. Select your course from the "Choose your course" drop-down menu.
    3. Your courses are connected through Canvas, and your accommodations are pulled from the DRC database. This means you’ll see all of your current classes and accommodations for the term.
    4. Important: If you don’t see the exam you’re looking for, your instructor may not have entered it yet. Please ask them to follow the instructions here: How to Set Up Exams in ATS
  3. Select the exam type from the drop-down menu for the specific exam you want to schedule.
  4. Choose your desired test date and time. If that time is not available, you will need to select a new time to proceed with scheduling.
    1. If you don’t see a date or time that works for you, reach out to your instructor. ATS isn’t able to adjust or extend the testing windows that instructors set for their exams.
  5. Provide your contact information.
  6. Select "Add to cart".
  7. You will see a "Complete Transaction" selection for $0.00 for your exam. Select "Complete Transaction".
  8. Once you click Register, your confirmation receipt will appear on the next page. You will also be sent a confirmation email that includes your exam location and details.

Please Note: By scheduling exams with Academic Testing Services, you are agreeing to our Student Testing Agreement

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What if I don’t see my exam in RegisterBlast?

A: Your instructor is responsible for creating exams in RegisterBlast and making them available for students. If you do not see your exam listed, please contact them for further assistance, or please ask them to follow the instructions here: How to Set Up Exams in ATS

Q: Can I reschedule or cancel my appointment?

A: You can reschedule your exam appointment as long as it is within the exam window set by your instructor. If you need to reschedule outside of that window, please contact your instructor for approval so they can open a make-up exam for you.

Q: I need to schedule a make-up exam, what do I do?

A: Please consult your instructor about scheduling a make-up exam. If approved, they can create a make-up exam in RegisterBlast and you can schedule for it using the steps above.

Q: What if my accommodations are not showing up or are wrong?

A: Accommodations are updated in real time from the DRC database, and reflect what you have been approved for and have selected for each term. Please check that you have entered a service request for the current term. If you are having trouble locating your accommodations, or do not see the accommodations you expected to see, please contact the Disability Resource Center to meet with an AC&C for more information.

Q: I thought I was allowed to have more/different materials for this exam; why are they not showing up?

A: Exam information, including materials allowed during the exam, is input by your instructor. If you think there is an error in the materials allowed listed, please contact your instructor for further assistance.

Q: How do I contact Academic Testing Services and when are you open?

A: The best, most efficient way to communicate with us is by email: testingservices@pdx.edu, and we are open from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM Monday - Friday. Please include enough detail so we are able to understand your question and follow up with you.

Q: Where is Academic Testing Services located?

A: Academic Testing Services operates out of multiple locations on campus, and in-person services are by appointment only. Please pay close attention to communications from us so that you'll know the location of each individual appointment. Your exam location will be in your confirmation email after you schedule your exam appointment.

Q: Is there parking available?

A: Please refer to the PSU Hourly and Visitor Parking page for details about parking on and around campus.

An Important Note Regarding the Distraction-Reduced Space Accommodation

The “Distraction-Reduced Space” accommodation does not mean a private room, nor an entirely distraction-free room, though we do our best to make it as quiet and free of distractions as we can. We aim for a room at a third capacity or less, though up to half capacity can still be considered distraction-reduced if the room is otherwise relatively quiet with minimal activity and distractions. Testing Services has in-ear earplugs, and over-the-ear noise muffling earmuffs, so please let us know if you would like to use either or both of these during your exam with us.
