Discord Tutorials for Class

What is Discord?

Discord is a social platform that allows you create communities (called Servers) which are separated into sections (called Channels). Discord can be used to create communities of any size and for a wide range of purposes. The ability to separate the server into channels makes it so that you can have multiple distinct conversations occurring at the same time in a single community. Discord also allows users to join voice and video chats right inside of the server itself.

Because of its universality and customizability, Discord is the perfect platform to start a class group that not only serves as a space to get support from your peers but can also be a hub to play games and make new connections with classmates. You can be the one to make a Discord server for your class – and getting started is easy when you follow the tutorials on this page!

Email Template

Hey folks,

My name is [YOUR NAME], and I'm one of your classmates in [CLASS NUMBER/TITLE/SECTION] with [PROFESSOR]. I have made a student-only discord for the class where we can all ask each other questions about requirements, help each other remember what's due, and more. School can be tough, so let's have each other's backs!

The more people that join the server, the better. Please consider joining. I promise, it'll be immensely helpful!

The link is below. I hope to see you all there!
