First Year Students Eligible to Receive Bookstore Credit

Portland State University awards the Senior Inquiry Bookstore Scholarship to eligible incoming First Year Senior Inquiry students from Oregon. All applicants are automatically considered for the scholarship; no separate application is required.

The Senior Inquiry Bookstore Scholarship is available to first year students for up to four academic years. It will cover up to $400 per term in books and supplies at the PSU bookstore (Fall, Winter & Spring) for a total of up to $1,200 in PSU bookstore credit per year. 

Award Amount: Up to $400 per term for four years


Eligibility

  • Must be a participant of the PSU Senior Inquiry Program and complete a full year of Senior Inquiry courses before enrolling at Portland State University
  • Admissible to PSU as a First Year student
  • First-time PSU Student
  • Enroll full-time (12 or more credits per term)

Applicants who initially applied to start in terms other than fall may change their start term to fall on or before the June 15 deadline to be considered for the Senior Inquiry Bookstore Scholarship

Applicants who are approved by PSU for a gap year will retain their eligibility so long as they continue to meet all criteria.

Awarding Process

Eligible applicants are automatically considered for, and awarded, the Senior Inquiry Bookstore Scholarship after being admitted to the university and are verified as confirmed participants of Senior Inquiry. Students are notified of their award by email and/or in their financial aid award. Initial awarding is based on information and documentation provided by the student in the admission process. Receipt of the award is based on submission of final financial aid and academic documents.

Maintaining the Senior Inquiry Bookstore Scholarship

Students who receive this scholarship may continue receiving it throughout their undergraduate education (up to 4 years of full time enrollment) by:

  • Enrolling in at least 12 credits per term at PSU (Co-admission/co-enrollment does not apply)
  • Meet Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) which includes maintaining at least  a 2.0 GPA
