  1. Miriam Abelson, women, gender, and sexuality studies faculty; and Bobbi Zaman, social work, presented “Rural LGBTQ+ Survival Stories in Eastern Washington and North Idaho” with the North Idaho Pride Alliance on May 19. 
  2. Richard Beyler, history faculty, presented “The ‘Inner Necessity’ of a Reluctantly Public Intellectual: James Franck as Leader of the Physics Community under Political Pressure,” at the University of Chicago Physics Department Colloquium on May 20.
  3. Amanda Smith Byron, conflict resolution faculty, presented on “The Importance of Genocide Education” at the Alliance Against Genocide Annual Conference on May 26.
  4. Bennett Gilbert, university studies, presented “The Human Model of Personhood and the Problem on Anthropocentrism” at the online British Personalist Forum Zoom Conference on June 5.
  5. Jon Holt, world languages and literatures, gave a lecture titled “Doraemon: A Look at Daily Japanese Life with Everyone’s Favorite Robot Cat” at the Encorepreneur Cafe in Portland on May 27.
  6. Suwako Watanabe, world languages and literatures faculty, was an invited presenter on “Remaking Japanese Language Teacher: From Teacher to Multifaceted Professional” as a part of the Shifting Paradigms: Transformative and Adaptive Strategies for Japanese Language Education at the the Michigan State University Workshop for Teachers of Japanese on May 15.
  7. Leni Zumas, English faculty, gave a speech at the University of Cambridge in the Cambridge Union’s debate on reproductive rights on May 27.
