OVERVIEW

CCAR is a statewide training for Oregon’s multidisciplinary team members and fulfills statutorily mandated training requirements. This training has a focus on field response and is appropriate for all members of the multidisciplinary team. Participants may include law enforcement, child protective service workers, school officials, medical professionals, mental health treatment providers, children’s advocacy center staff, juvenile department representatives and others (ORS 418.747). Questions about this training should be sent to registration@oregoncas.org.

During this two-day, live, virtual training, Oregon’s forensic interviewing experts will help learners:

  • Enhance their knowledge of child development, memory and trauma, disclosure dynamics and the Child Advocacy Center (CAC) model in the state of Oregon.
  • Identify question types used when talking with children, learn strategies designed to reduce trauma, and be more prepared to deploy questions in a legally sound, developmentally-appropriate and defensible manner.
  • Understand MDT professional roles and responsibilities and how to best work together to provide collaborative child abuse response throughout the life of a case.
