Early Childhood Mental Health Program

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

Future Master of Social Work (MSW) students interested in Early Childhood Mental Health (ECHM). Our goal is to increase and diversify the workforce in ECHM within the HealthShare and CareOregon (CCO) networks and increase access to desperately needed services for young children in the Portland area.

  • Specialized Practicum Placements in Early Childhood Mental Health tailored to students' interests and intersectional identities for inclusive learning

THIS MIGHT BE YOUR ADVENTURE IF

  • You have a background in Early Childhood Education (ECE).
  • You want to continue education after your ECE AA; Child, Youth, and Family Studies (CYFS); Bachelor of Social Work (BSW); or Infant Toddler Mental Health (ITMHC) degree.
  • You would like to get an MSW with a focus in early childhood mental health.

APPLICATION PROCESS

  1. Reach out to the Early Childhood Practicum Placement Development Specialist, Jennifer Scheib, via email: jscheib@pdx.edu to schedule an info session.
  2. After the information session, Jennifer will send you a link to the ECMH application.
  3. Fill out the application and submit it.  The timeline is dependent on the submission date.
