Overview
The Research Development Team offers assistance to individual faculty developing compelling, competitive proposals - from strategizing for proposal submission (or resubmission), to finding the best-fitting funding opportunity, through finalizing and strengthening the proposal documents. Please note that all individual proposal services are offered on availability, with scheduling priority going to LIONS teams and to strategically important proposal efforts.

Funding Opportunity Alignment Review | I-T2 | We conduct an in-depth analysis of an identified funding opportunity for alignment with PI, PSU and sponsor priorities. We will carefully evaluate the request for proposals and create briefing materials to ensure your concept paper/plan is responsive and conforms to all specific instructions and requirements. | 60 days |
Concept Paper Development and Program Officer Outreach | I-T2 | We will advise you on developing a quad chart or a one-page white paper/concept paper and a communication strategy for contacting program officers to evaluate a proposed project’s programmatic relevance. | 60 days |

Proposal Narrative Review | L-T3 | We will provide a non-scientific review of the proposal narrative (or equivalent) document to ensure this section is clearly written, grammatically correct, and responsive to the RFP/solicitation. Time permitting, this may involve more than one round of review/edits. | 60 days |
How to Request Support
To maximize the effectiveness of our support and your proposal's competitiveness, it is essential to request services as far in advance as possible, with minimum recommended times to deadline outlined for each service tier. Please note that all services are offered on a first-come, first-served basis, with priority going to LIONS and strategically important proposal efforts. We encourage PIs to contact our team as soon as possible to ensure adequate time to fulfill the requests.
