Academic Testing Services (ATS)

“The involvement of Testing Services has been incredibly helpful for us and our students!”
“Thank you so much for your help over this past term. The proctors...were so great and really made the testing process smooth and easy for our students.”

What is Academic Testing Services (ATS)?

PSU Academic Testing Services (ATS), within Student Academic Support Services in Academic Affairs, provides equitable and secure exam proctoring in partnership with PSU instructors. ATS proctors exams on behalf of instructors, follows instructor-provided exam guidance, and administers assessments based on this guidance to create an accessible and accessible testing experience. ATS is committed to supporting faculty and students by providing reliable proctoring services when requested. We prioritize accommodated exams for students registered with the Disability Resource Center (DRC), uphold academic integrity and professionalism, and operate in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973.

Make-up exam proctoring is offered on a capacity basis, as support for DRC-registered students remains our priority. (See below)

We strongly encourage faculty and students to connect at the start of each term and to submit all exam support requests to Academic Testing Services for the entire term.

Please note: PSU Academic Testing Services only provides exam proctoring for PSU faculty and their students.

Our Mission

PSU Academic Testing Services (ATS), a part of Student Success within Academic Affairs, provides equitable and effective learning assessment and academic test proctoring support for PSU students and their instructors. We are committed to maintaining accessibility, integrity, and professionalism throughout all aspects of the test administration process. We prioritize accommodated exams for students registered with the Disability Resource Center (DRC), and we operate in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973. Proctoring for make-up exams is offered on a capacity basis, as we must continue to prioritize support for DRC-registered students and their instructors.

Please note that Academic Testing Services (ATS) is not part of the Disability Resource Center, and we are no longer part of SHAC (as of 2020). ATS is part of Academic Affairs, within Student Success.

Make-Up Exams for Non-DRC Registered Students

Starting Spring 2024, in an effort to expand support for faculty, PSU Academic Testing Services (ATS) resumed offering limited make-up exam proctoring for students who are not registered with the Disability Resource Center (DRC). This service was paused during the height of the pandemic and has been reinstated as operational capacity allows.

Students seeking to take a make-up exam with ATS must first consult with their instructor to receive approval. Once approved, students should review the Student Information page for next steps. Make-up exam proctoring is offered on a capacity basis, as ATS must continue to prioritize support for DRC-registered students and their instructors.
