Richard Robinson Business History Workshops

The Richard Robinson Business History Workshop has convened a series of focused, small-scale workshops dedicated to specific themes within the field of business history since its founding in 2014. Funded by a bequest from the late Richard Robinson, Professor of Management, the workshop series takes place biennially on the Portland State University campus during the spring of even-numbered years.

These gatherings are designed to foster in-depth scholarly exchange, bringing together researchers to engage critically with emerging questions, methodologies, and historiographical debates. By keeping the workshops intimate and focused on sustained discussion and collaboration, the series creates an intellectual environment that supports rigorous analysis, interdisciplinary dialogue, and the development of innovative research agendas in business history. Information on current and past programs is provided below.
