  1. Kathi Inman Berens, English faculty, contributed the keyword “Interface” to the article Digital Pedagogy in the Humanities, which won the 2020 Digital Humanities Award: Best DH Response to COVID-19.
  2. Randi Petrauskas Harris, Transfer and Returning Student Resource Center program director, won the Bonita C. Jacobs Transfer Champion — Rising Star Award from The National Institute for the Study of Transfer Students (NISTS).
  3. Shirley A. Jackson, sociology faculty, was a panelist for the Office of Academic Innovation's workshop on “Considerations toward an Equitable & Inclusive Curriculum” on Feb. 19.
  4. Anne McClanan, art and design faculty, secured a contract with Reaktion Books to publish “The Griffin: A History in Images” in 2022.
  5. José Padin, sociology faculty, helped draft a resolution on the duties and responsibilities of academic freedom, which was passed by the Portland State University Faculty Senate on March 1 with a vote of 47-0. PSU President Stephen Percy followed up with an email to the campus community expressing full support for the Senate resolution. This resolution clarified that our right to academic freedom does not offer pretext or justification for bullying, intimidation, or speech or action that creates a climate of fear, harassment or discrimination.
  6. Dan Rogers, business faculty, was interviewed in the segment “PSU Professor Breaks Down GameStop Saga on Wall Street” on KOIN AM Extra.
  7. Patricia Schechter, conflict resolution interim directory and history faculty, was interviewed for “Three Historic PDX Women to Know,” published by Bridgeliner.
  8. Dara Shifrer, sociology faculty, received the American Educational Research Association Outstanding Reviewer Award from the American Educational Research Journal (2020).
  9. Sonja Taylor, university studies, and Esperanza De La Vega, curriculum and instruction faculty, are co-chairs of PSU’s Ad-Hoc Committee to Add Diversity, Equity and Inclusion into University Promotion and Tenure Guidelines.
