We are happy to announce Anna Howell as the new interim director of the Oregon Center for Career Development in Childhood Care and Education (OCCD).

Anna started working at PSU in 2017 with the Child Welfare Partnership under the School of Social Work and joined the OCCD last year. With more than 20 years of training and workforce development experience in a range of public and private environments, Anna has led and supported professional development opportunities for a wide variety of fields, including student leaders, foster and adoptive families, mental health professionals, child welfare workers, early childhood educators and trainers.

Anna will complete her Doctorate in Educational Leadership and Policy in 2024, specializing in Post-Secondary Education. Her current areas of interest and research include incorporating trauma-informed and anti-oppressive practices into curriculum and classroom environments and authentically designed and supported workforce diversification.

We are delighted to have Anna’s leadership to guide professional development offerings with an equity lens at this pivotal time. Please join me in welcoming her to the College of Education in this new role.
