Accommodated Testing Process

Instructors are primarily responsible for proctoring accommodated tests, or designating someone from the department to do so. It is important to communicate with your instructors to set up a plan for your testing accommodations well in advance of scheduled tests. You are welcome to include the DRC in those communications at any time if you or your instructor need support in finding reasonable options.

PSU Testing Services provides limited accommodated test proctoring support. Testing Services’ priority is to provide proctoring services for students who have specialized accommodations (indicated by a carat^ on the Faculty Notification Email) that cannot be provided in another environment.

  • Testing Services’ availability is very limited, and exam proctoring requests must be submitted at least 7 business days before the desired exam appointment date.
  • For final exams, all exam support requests must be submitted to Testing Services by the end of Week 9.
  • Due to this limited availability, you and your instructor may need to be flexible about the date and time you take the exam if needed.

If your instructor directs you to Testing Services for testing accommodations other than those marked by a carat^, we recommend that you consult with DRC first so that we can collaborate with you and your instructor on options.

See our Supplemental Testing Information page for more information about specific testing accommodations.
