We are happy to announce that Kristin Miyamoto (she/they) has been hired as Regional Home Visiting System Transformation Coordinator at the School of Social Work.

Kristin first arrived at PSU in the summer of 2022 as a student in the Early Childhood: Inclusive Education program. She has been in the field of Early Childhood Education for her whole career, working in in-home and center-based child care programs including Head Start at The Research Institute at Western Oregon University. Working across Oregon to support workforce development in child care, she received her Bachelor's of Science in Early Childhood Education from Eastern Oregon University and will graduate in the spring of 2024 with her Master's in Early Childhood: Inclusive Education from Portland State University.

Kristin is passionate about the field of early childhood and is compelled to bring anti-bias education, constructivism, children's rights, family partnerships, and ecological systems knowledge to the communities she serves.

She loves spending time with her family and learning new skills such as woodworking and Japanese.

Please join us in welcoming Kristin to the School of Social Work in this new role!
