MSW Southern Oregon Option

Overview

The MSW-DO Southern Oregon Option, begun in 1997, recruits and admits students from several counties in Southern Oregon and Northern California. The MSW-DO Southern Oregon Site is located in the Higher Education Center (HEC) in Medford where students attend classes taught by PSU School of Social Work faculty in a university setting.

Our site has long-standing partnerships with many area agencies, including the Veteran's Administration's Southern Oregon Rehabilitation Clinics and Center in White City; local county and non-profit mental health agencies, such as Jackson County Health & Human Services, Family Solutions, and Klamath Youth Development Center; various hospitals, home health, and hospice agencies in Jackson, Klamath and Josephine Counties; community health centers and school-based health centers; and the Department of Human Services Child Welfare offices.

MSW-DO students attend classes every Friday at HEC the first two years of the program and every other Friday for the third year. Students complete each of their two years of practicum in agencies in their home communities whenever possible.
