Leading, learning, life changing

This simple phrase guides everything you will experience as a student at Portland State University's Graduate School of Education (GSE). Here you will gain the skills necessary to become a leader and learn more than you ever imagined. By the time your studies are complete, you will have had a life changing experience that points you down the path of a successful future.

Leading

Learn the skills necessary to become a leader in a variety of professional settings including public schools, libraries, counseling clinics, social service agencies, institutions of higher education and adult education programs.

Learning

Learn in a vibrant urban setting: Here you will be prepared to meet the lifelong educational needs of diverse communities, no matter where your career takes you. Whether you're pursuing continuing education, licensure, a master's degree or doctorate, the GSE has a program that's right for you.

Life changing

You will be exposed to new ideas and a very diverse student and faculty population. You also will be part of a tradition that honors different cultural perspectives, which helps create the energized atmosphere at the GSE. But perhaps most importantly, you will be better prepared to help meet the needs of the diverse children and families you will serve in the future.

The truth is, by the time your studies here are complete, you could be a completely different person.
