Once admitted to PSU, all undergraduate students are required to attend an Orientation. The sessions provide both first-time freshmen and transfer students with general education and major academic advising, information on the many support services available to students as well as the tools needed to register for classes. Attending Orientation ensures a smooth transition to PSU and to guarantee students have access to information about the programs and services the PSU community offers. To register for an OAR session, students should contact New Student Orientation at:

Where do I go for advising after orientation?
Students meet with their adviser at the orientation and should continue to meet with their adviser on a regular basis. Regular advising sessions ensure students complete all the necessary graduation requirements. Student with an intended major have academic advising offices within each College or School. Please see the Advising website for a complete list of advisers/advising centers on campus. Students who are undeclared or exploring majors receive academic advising from Advising & Career Services. (Advising & Career Services also provides career counseling and resources to all current students and alumni.)
Academic advising for students who have not declared a major
Advising & Career Services works with students who are undecided about their academic major or with new students helping them better understand the general education requirements needed to graduate. Advising & Career Services offers a variety of options for advising; for additional information see the ACS Advising Schedule.
