Urban, Public, and Global Affairs Pathway
In the Urban, Public, and Global Affairs Pathway, students explore the ways that urban planning, governance, public administration, economics, and international studies can create real impact in the daily lives of individuals and communities.
Our programs encourage students to imagine original solutions to modern challenges and to implement them in real-time through experiential classrooms and hands-on internships. Students will get prepared to defuse and de-escalate conflict, create social change, and impact policy, economics, and systemic injustice at local and global levels.
Majors include: Community Development, Conflict Resolution, Criminology & Criminal Justice, Economics, International Studies, Political Science, Quantitative Economics, and Urban & Public Affairs
Pre-professional program: Pre-Law
Important information for incoming students:
Incoming students must complete Orientation online prior to scheduling an appointment with their advisor for their first term. Completing Orientation opens access to registration and covers the information necessary to select and register for classes, and students may follow up with their advisor if they have questions.
How to meet with an UPGAP Advisor:
Students in all majors in this Pathway (except for CCJ Online), including Exploratory/Undeclared, are assigned an advisor based on the last two digits of their PSU ID number as listed below. To schedule an appointment, use the links below. If you have any difficulty scheduling, please email upgap@pdx.edu for assistance.
