  1. Anita Bright, Education faculty, presented “Leveraging Modern Technologies to Impact Language Teaching: A Video Assignment as a Tool of Engagement,” at the Language and Communication Challenges in the Era of Digitization conference in Jericho, Palestine. 
  2. Óscar Fernández, University Studies faculty, presented “Best Practices in Interpreting in the LGBTQIA Community,” for the Oregon Health Care Interpreters Association webinar on March 11.
  3. Shirley A. Jackson, Sociology faculty, had a research project on Black perspectives of Portland mentioned in the article “Between White Backlash and Privilege” in Black Pittsburgh on Feb. 2.
  4. Shirley A. Jackson, Sociology faculty, conducted two workshops on racial awareness and becoming advocates for equality for students at the International School of Beaverton on Feb. 8 during its Culture Week.
  5. Thea Prieto, English, was part of the “Brave New Writers” panel at the 2023 Hillsboro Reads: Local Authors event on March 16. 
  6. Eva Thanheiser, Mathematics and Statistics faculty, presented “How Do We Define Mathematics in Mathematics Education?” at Research Council on Mathematics Learning  on March 3.
  7. Maika Yeigh, Education faculty, presented “Lesson Rehearsal and Real Teaching with Teacher Candidates” to the Oregon Association of Teacher Educators Annual Conference in Portland.
