Project Status: Monitor/Assess

The Last Mile initiative that began in 2010 was very successful in helping over 1,000 students who left PSU without their degree return and graduate. There are many students that have stopped out as a result of the pandemic for a myriad of reasons, and we worked to build on the Last Mile initiative to be a true "last mile" program and help the students who were either at risk of stopping out due to financial reasons or that  stopped out as a result of the pandemic. This project supported students' return with academic and financial planning support.

Accomplished

  • 1,364 students are eligible for the Finish Line initiative.
  • 355 students have graduated.
  • 121 students enrolled in the Winter 2024 term.
  • Finish Line Team presented at the Oregon Student Success & Retention Conference!

In Progress

  • Assessment on impact of Finish Line program on participants.
  • Supporting Finish Line students who have re-enrolled with academic and financial assistance to complete their degrees by Spring 2024.
  • Sustainability plan in collaboration with the Financial Wellness Center, Financial Aid, Advising & Career Services, and the Office of Student Success.
