Guest pianist Murray McLachlan leads a master class with PSU students, followed by a lecture titled "The Universality of Practice and Practising," in which he will discuss the universe of approaches to practicing, from mental and physical to spiritual, intellectual, kinaesthetic and multi-sensory and how these help to continue a musician’s lifelong development.

The master class is in Lincoln Hall 326, and the lecture follows at 8:15 p.m. in Lincoln Hall 225.

This event is part of the PSU Steinway Series, which brings internationally recognized performers and educators to Portland for a weekend of public recitals and master classes each year. Acting as a bridge between world-class stages and the college classroom, the series elevates awareness for PSU’s outstanding music program while providing students and concertgoers with access to a broad spectrum of the highest level professional pianists performing today.
