Heejun Chang is a Professor of Geography in the School of Earth, Environment, and Society, and has served as Associate Dean for Research and Graduate Programs in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences since July 2021. He joined PSU in 2001 as an assistant professor after obtaining a Ph.D. at the Pennsylvania State University. He oversees college-wide research initiatives and collaborations and graduate programs, including graduate enrollment and curricular inquiries.
He has led transdisciplinary water research from a coupled natural and human systems lens across the Pacific, studying future climate change impacts on water quantity and quality, flood and drought hazards, and water-related ecosystem services using spatial statistics, social surveys, and process-based modeling. He has published nearly 200 peer-reviewed manuscripts with over 14,000 citations by Google Scholar.
