Majors PSU’s School of Earth, Environment, and Society offers six undergraduate majors that give you the opportunity to explore the environment, societies and the interactions between them across time and place. Add a Minor or Certificate about this content Anthropology Develop a foundational understanding of how humans operate and interact in a global perspective. Gain exposure to the various subfields of anthropology, including archaeology, biological anthropology and sociocultural anthropology. Earth Science With a flexible but focused program, become grounded in the geologic framework of inquiry and problem solving while exploring the link between the geologic perspective of earth systems and concepts of sustainability. Environmental Science With a natural science lens, choose to focus on the scientific and field study of the environment (Science track) or environmental management and policy (Management track). Environmental Studies Better understand environment-society interactions through a social science lens and prepare for careers in environmental policy and governance. Geography Develop an appreciation and understanding of the human environment on global, regional, and local scales with the background and requisite training for careers in resource, planning, environmental, or education fields. Geology Dig into the Earth's physical and environmental processes and how events and processes of the past can influence the present and future.
