We examine the dynamic relationships between human cultures and the environments they inhabit. Our faculty and students use anthropology, geography, sociology, and community-based methods to study how local communities and global societies understand, manage, and adapt to change. We focus on critical issues of environmental justice, equity, resource management, and sense of place.
