Requirements

Introductory Courses (9 credits)

  • EES 200 Field Studies
  • G 201 Dynamic Earth: Interior and G 204 Geology Laboratory
  • G 202 Dynamic Earth: Surface and G 205 Geology Laboratory

Students may substitute an Introductory course/lab from the School of Earth, Environment, and Society for G 201/G 204 or G 202/G 205 (i.e. G 203/G 206 Historical Geology, G 301 Geology for Engineers, GEOG 210/GEOG 210L Physical Geography, ESM 220/ESM 220L Introduction to Environmental Systems)

Geology Courses (15 credits)

  • G 312 Mineralogy
  • G 313 Methods in Mineralogy
  • G 314 Petrology
  • G 315 Lithology and Petrography
  • G 318 Processes in the Surface Environment
  • G 319 Processes in the Surface Environment: Methods

300-level Geology Electives (8 credits)

G 320 or higher. This may include up to 4 credits of 300-level mathematics, science, engineering, and/or School of Earth, Environment, and Society (SEES) courses.

400-level Geology Electives (20 credits)

G 410 or higher. This may include up to 12 credits of 400-level mathematics, science, engineering, and/or School of Earth, Environment, and Society (SEES) courses. Students may use up to 4 credits from an approved summer field camp course.

Mathematics to include one of the following:
