Graduate Programs Our graduate programs include master’s and doctoral degrees as well as graduate certificates. Degree types include:MA/MS: Generally, students conduct research and write a thesis, though some of our programs offer non-thesis options.Master’s of Environmental Management (MEM): Students conduct a project in collaboration with a community partner, and complete a report that serves the community partner’s needs.Professional Science Master’s (PSM): Students complete two graduate certificates and a capstone project or internship.PhD: Students conduct research and write a dissertation. Program options include the more traditional thesis option for those who plan on pursuing a doctorate or career in research as well as project, internship and skills options for those wanting a more applied focus. Doctorates We offer two programs leading to a PhD degree: Earth, Environment and Society, and Systems Science. Our goal is to train researchers and scientists who will make fundamental and lasting contributions to their fields. Graduate Certificates We offer seven graduate certificates across a variety of subjects that allow you to broaden your skills and career prospects. Some programs can be applied toward a master’s degree.
