Adaptive Technology for Note Taking

Note taking technology is used as an accessible alternative to handwritten notes. You can use this technology to create audio recordings, take digital notes, and sync both recordings and notes between your devices.

DRC-Supported Resources

SmartPens

  • The DRC offers SmartPens that sync an audio recording of a lecture with handwritten notes when written on smart paper.
  • After recording, you can review your notes and tap on your handwriting to play the audio recording of the lecture.
  • A limited number of SmartPens are available for checkout to eligible students registered with the DRC at our front desk at no cost.

Glean

  • Glean is a note taking app that enables you to sync lecture slides to an audio recording, with an option to type notes.
  • Glean’s transcription feature allows you to convert your audio recording to text.
  • A limited number of licenses are available to eligible students for eligible students registered with the DRC.
