Research Scholars, Professors, Specialists and other Professionals
Most scholars come to PSU as researchers, teaching faculty or to do other academic work. This category includes graduate students, researchers or teaching faculty at other universities or institutes, and other professionals or specialists (government officials, journalists, artists, etc.).
Scholars may be involved in any collaborative educational activity which is mutually beneficial to the scholar, university and general community.
Scholar eligibility
Scholars in these categories must:
- Have at least a Bachelor's degree, or established expertise for the program or activity at PSU
- Have adequate financial support for living expenses in Portland, Oregon. Financial support can come from any source such as PSU payment, home institution, scholarships or grants, or personal funds.
- Have English proficiency adequate to be successful in their program at PSU. Scholars may have an English interview, test score or academic documentation to show their English skill level.
