Review the PacificSource Insurance Plan

Review the PacificSource Scholar Insurance Plan Summary of Benefits so you understand the plan costs and benefits. For complete details about the Plan see the Explanation of Benefits.

When to Enroll

You may enroll in the PSU PacificSource Scholar Insurance Plan before you leave home and travel to Portland, or you may enroll during your new scholar check-in meeting. In order to ensure you are covered from the day you arrive in the U.S., we recommend you enroll as soon as you have your travel dates set. Scholars who are renewing their insurance must renew it before their current insurance coverage expires.

Weekly Enrollment

The scholar insurance plan offers a flexible weekly enrollment. The dates you choose to enroll and the fees charged are per week, in 7-day increments. For example, if you enroll for 18 days (2 weeks + 4 days) you will be charged for 3 weeks.

Enrollment Dates

You must have insurance for your entire exchange program. However, you may choose to enroll in the insurance plan for shorter periods of time by renewing your insurance in order to better manage your budget.

Recommended Enrollment Dates

  • If your exchange program is 3 months or less, we recommend you enroll for the full period of your exchange program, from your arrival date to your departure date.
  • If your exchange program is 3 months or longer, we recommend you enroll in the insurance plan in three-month increments (12 weeks). This will require you to renew your insurance every three months to keep it active.

Costs

Premiums for the 2023-2024 academic year (starting September) is $41 per person, per week (scholar, spouse, and each child). You will need a credit card (Visa or MasterCard) to purchase the insurance during the enrollment process.
