April joined Student Legal Services in 2014, where she served as Assistant Director and Staff Attorney until 2024, and was then selected as the new Director/Managing Attorney for SLS.
April graduated Lewis & Clark Law School in 2008. That same year she was recognized as a Shepherd Scholar for her advocacy for queer & transgender individuals. After law school April clerked for a Multnomah Circuit Court judge. She then went on to represent low-income clients in a variety of family law cases at St. Andrew Legal Clinic. April is also an advocate for tenant rights. She represented victims of housing discrimination through the Fair Housing Council of Oregon, she served two terms on the board of directors of the Community Alliance of Tenants and she continues to advocate for tenants. April enjoys time with her cats & playing pinball.
April has recently been recognized with PSU's prestigious Mary H. Cumpston Award for Service to Students.
