Don't Get Scared, Get Prepared

A resilient campus starts with you. Your preparedness is the foundation of our collective ability to weather any emergency. Taking simple steps today makes a big difference. Use this guide to get informed and feel empowered. Future-you will thank you.

Ready for Anything: Start Here

  1. Confirm your PSU Alert preferences: Log into myPSU and opt into Text Messages. This is the fastest way to receive official campus safety alerts.
  2. Save These Contacts: Add CPSO (503-725-5911) to your favorites for 24/7 campus safety assistance (Remember, always dial 9-1-1 for life-threatening emergencies). Add psualert@notify.pdx.edu to your contacts so alerts never hit your spam folder.
  3. Know Your Emergency Procedures:  In an emergency, every second counts. Know the difference between "Evacuate" and "Shelter-in-Place" before you need them.
  4. Build Your Community & Make a Plan: Don't navigate disruptions alone. Have a backup plan for pets or transit. Connect with a neighbor, colleague, or friend today. Ask yourself: Who will I call? Who can help?
  5. Review Campus Closure Guidance: Familiarize yourself with how decisions are made about unexpected campus closures and what it means for campus services, classes, and work.
