The role of the Incident Management Team (IMT) is to provide support to incident field operations through communication, coordination, and resource management functions. The IMT does not respond to the scene but is responsible for managing and directing response activities.
The IMT activates in cases when the standard operating procedures of campus departments become insufficient to respond and / or recover from an incident, and / or when incident impacts span multiple departments thereby creating a need for greater coordination.
The Vice President for Finance and Administration serves as the connection between the IMT and the PSU Executive Committee (a group convened by the University President). The IMT may periodically provide incident updates to and/or seek policy -level guidance from the Executive Committee.
