Emerging Hispanic-Serving Institution Portland State University has been recognized by Excelencia in Education as an emerging Hispanic-Serving Institution (HSI), reflecting the growing presence and impact of Latiné students at PSU.Emerging HSIs are institutions where Latiné students make up between 15–24% of undergraduate enrollment, positioning them on the path toward full HSI designation.
