Foundational Resources

Students

Portland State University has undertaken a variety of campuswide efforts to advance equity, inclusion, and belonging. This page brings together key resources — including foundational reports, the Time to Act Equity Plan, and insights from BIPOC community convenings — into one accessible repository.

These resources are intended for students, faculty, staff, and community partners who want to explore past and current initiatives, understand the progress made, and identify ways to engage with ongoing equity work at PSU.

Time to Act: Plan for Equity & Racial Justice

A comprehensive 3-year plan that was created by months of collaboration between PSU students and employees — all to realize an equitable and just university experience for all.

BIPOC Community Convenings

As part of Time to Act, PSU hosted a series of affinity-based conversations in 2022 with BIPOC communities to imagine what a thriving future could look like — and the role PSU can and should play as Portland’s anchor institution. These gatherings created space for dialogue, connection, and collective visioning, culminating in The Future and Thriving of BIPOC Communities Macro Convening.
